Rules and cultural references
Oware Abapa, Anan-Anan/Four-Four, and Nam-Nam use separate project-supplied engineering baselines reviewed and adopted for this release. Ayò Ọlọ́pọ́n / Ayoayo references include the Smithsonian Institution gameboard record, John Pratt’s Ayoayo rules, and Mancala World’s Ayoayo overview.
Digital decisions such as opening player, board layout, finite-play safeguards, animation, and accessibility presentation are product choices and are not presented as traditional rules.
Language and accessibility
Launch copy is original English product copy. Screen-reader labels, large-text layouts, high contrast, reduced motion, sound controls, and haptic controls were designed and tested by Bencode Studio. No outside accessibility endorsement is claimed.
Design and audio
Game design, software, visual direction, board and courtyard artwork, interface assets, and original sound cues were created for Ayo · Oware by Bencode Studio LLC. Decorative geometry is not presented as a named cultural symbol unless its source and review status are documented.
Technology and services
The mobile app is built with open-source React Native and Expo software. It uses Apple and Google storefronts, Google Mobile Ads, and optional Firebase services. This public website is served using Firebase Hosting.
